Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Saskatoon, SK, with the flexibility for some remote work. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Structural Drafter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of detailed drawings and plans for various structural projects, working closely with senior drafters and engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed structural drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Assist in the development and maintenance of drafting standards and procedures.
Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure designs meet project specifications and standards.
Revise drawings based on feedback from senior drafters and engineers.
Maintain organized records of all drawings and related documents.
Ensure all drawings comply with industry codes, standards, and regulations.
Conduct site visits as needed to gather information and verify existing conditions.
Qualifications
Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
Basic understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methods.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
Key Knowledge & Experience
No industry experience is required for this position. Experience working in the consulting field with practice in design, drafting, and 3D CAD would be an asset. Heavy industrial exposure would also be considered an asset, especially in mining and more specifically, potash mining.
Specialized experience in the following software would also be considered an asset: AutoCAD (2D and 3D), Inventor, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Access. Other programming expertise would be very beneficial.
