Mechanical Engineering

The core of our mechanical engineering experience is in industrial projects ranging from feasibility studies of small to large brownfield and greenfield expansion projects, mechanical design of new plant facilities, to smaller revamp/retrofit projects within existing plants.

  • Overall Plant Design
  • Equipment Specification, Layout & Sizing
  • Material Handling Equipment
  • Vessels & Tanks
  • Process Piping & Pumping
  • Process Ancillary Services
  • Building Services
  • Dust Control
  • Industrial HVAC
  • Chilling & Water Softening

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our Senior Mechanical Engineer, Sheridan Fjeld, P.Eng., has significant experience in the engineering, procurement and commissioning of hydronic and HVAC systems since 1999. Sheridan has also led projects to trouble shoot and resolve operational problems with existing systems in these same areas of practice. Sheridan has engineered steam, hot glycol/water, gas and electric heating, and make-up air systems for full mill expansions, reconfigurations and replacements in heavy industrial buildings as well as HVAC systems for office spaces, control rooms, garages and shops. Sheridan has also executed complete hydronic system projects with unit heaters, boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, pumps, piping and ancillary components.

Mechanical Design Team

Our experienced mechanical design team utilizes Autodesk Plant 3D (piping design/routing, model management, equipment layout drawings, piping layout drawings, and piping isometrics) and AutoCAD (Flow Sheets, P&IDs, general detailing and ancillary layouts). We have recently completed a large brownfield industrial mill expansion which included the design and modeling of piping, HVAC systems, and equipment layouts, all of which was done utilizing Autodesk Plant 3D as the design and central model assembly software.
