Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Saskatoon, SK, with the flexibility for some remote work. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Intermediate Structural Drafter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of detailed drawings and plans for various structural projects, working closely with senior drafters and engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and produce detailed structural drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software, primarily AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Develop and maintain drafting standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all projects.

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to develop and refine structural designs.

  • Review and revise drawings based on feedback and design changes.

  • Conduct site visits to gather information, verify existing conditions, and support the engineering team.

  • Ensure all drawings comply with industry codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Manage and maintain an organized library of drawings and related documents.

  • Provide guidance and support to junior drafters, assisting with their professional development.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in structural drafting.

  • Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methods.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., AISC, ACI).

Key Knowledge & Experience

A minimum of 4 years of experience are required for this position. Experience working in the consulting field with practice in design, drafting and 3D CAD is essential. Heavy industrial exposure would also be an asset, especially in the area of mining and, more specifically, potash mining.

Specialized experience in the following software would also be considered an asset; Revit, AutoCAD (2D and 3D), Inventor, and Microsoft Office. Other programming expertise would be very beneficial.

Salary Range

$75,000 - $106,000
