Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Saskatoon, SK, with the flexibility for some remote work. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Electrical Drafter/Technologist to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will assist in the preparation of technical drawings and plans used in the design and construction of electrical systems. You will collaborate closely with engineers and senior drafters to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities
Prepare and revise electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD software.
Assist in the development of detailed electrical designs for industrial projects.
Review and interpret technical documents, specifications, and sketches provided by engineers.
Ensure that all drawings and plans comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Coordinate with other team members to gather information and resolve design issues.
Maintain organized project files and documentation.
Support the creation of bill of materials (BOM) and other project-related documents.
Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on design and technical solutions.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
Proficiency in AutoCAD or other CAD software; experience with Revit is a plus.
Strong understanding of electrical systems and components.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.
Basic knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., CSA, NEC, IEC) is desirable.
Key Knowledge & Experience
Internship or previous work experience in a drafting or technologist role.
Familiarity with electrical design software and tools.
Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
0 - 4 years of experience are required for this position. Heavy industrial exposure would also be an asset, especially in the area of mining and, more specifically, potash mining and/or uranium mining. Additional experience with instrumentation and controls would be considered an asset.
Specialized experience in the following software would also be considered an asset; AutoCAD (2D and 3D), Microsoft Access & Office, and VBA. Other programming expertise would be very beneficial.
